Dave and I celebrated our 11th anniversary last month. For my gift to him, I made a booklet with 52 dates for the next year. We did the 52 Date challenge 2 years ago. We have slacked off on the dates since. I searched
my imagination the internet to come up with 52 dates. Dave missed our dates as did I. This date's inspiration was from
The Dating Divas.
For our first date from the booklet, we decided to have an Irish date. We watched the romantic comedy
Leap Year. The film is about a woman who heads to Ireland to ask her boyfriend to
accept her wedding proposal on leap day, when Irish tradition holds that
men cannot refuse a woman's proposal for marriage. Her plans are
interrupted by a series of increasingly unlikely events and are further
complicated when she hires a handsome innkeeper to take her to her
boyfriend in Dublin. It was a cute flick and the Irish landscapes were beautiful.
I made a Shepherd's pie for dinner which we ate while watching the movie. It was a fun and easy to plan date. I feel good that we have dating ideas for the whole year. Planning one day a week to date definitely helps us connect. Do you make weekly time to date?
This is date 1 of 52.
