Patriots Date

Our friends B. and J. offered us tickets to go to a preseason Patriots game with them.  We love the Pats so we jumped at the chance.  We tailgated before the game. We ate chicken and beef kabobs, rack of lamb, cheesy potatoes, and lots of chips.
We enjoyed a few beverages.
I love these patriots too.
We had a great time at the game even though they lost.  It was awesome to just be in the stadium and see them play and hang out with our good friends.
This is date 4 out of 52 for us.

2 Dates

We went camping this weekend with our kids and our friends' family.  When we got the kids to sleep, we sat around the fire and talked.  Dates don't have fancy or long. It is just about connecting without the children.  We had a great time watching the fire and chatting.

The second date was last week.  I rented American Reunion. We loved all the American Pie movies. American Reunion was a good flick too.  I made apple pie to eat on our date.  We had fun laughing our way through the movie.  After the movie was over, we did class superlatives.   We went to college together but we were allowed to use anyone we both know.  Our daughter, Caitlin, won both our votes for Most Dramatic.  It was fun to see if we agreed with each other on the categories.

This is dates 2 and 3 out of 52.

Aquarium Fun

We took the kids to our local aquarium. I love seeing all the animals.
Playing with the penguins. I love their underwater viewing area.
This guy is my favorite, the Beluga Whale. He seems to smile as he swims by you.
Posing with the penguins.
Running through the marsh.

Making memories at the aquarium makes me happy.Go see Leigh vs. Laundry to see more photos that will make you happy.

An Irish Date

Dave and I celebrated our 11th anniversary last month.  For my gift to him, I made a booklet with 52 dates for the next year.  We did the 52 Date challenge 2 years ago.  We have slacked off on the dates since. I searched my imagination the internet to come up with 52 dates.  Dave missed our dates as did I.  This date's inspiration was from The Dating Divas.

For our first date from the booklet, we decided to have an Irish date. We watched the romantic comedy Leap Year. The film is about a woman who heads to Ireland to ask her boyfriend to accept her wedding proposal on leap day, when Irish tradition holds that men cannot refuse a woman's proposal for marriage. Her plans are interrupted by a series of increasingly unlikely events and are further complicated when she hires a handsome innkeeper to take her to her boyfriend in Dublin. It was a cute flick and the Irish landscapes were beautiful.

I made a Shepherd's pie for dinner which we ate while watching the movie.  It was a fun and easy to plan date.  I feel good that we have dating ideas for the whole year.  Planning one day a week to date definitely helps us connect. Do you make weekly time to date?
This is date 1 of 52.

Oh Deer!

These deer were in my neighbor's yard. I stood on my deck railing to see them over our fence. They didn't seem afraid of me. I wondered where their mama was. They seem so little.

This little guy walked right towards me.
Maximus barked and finally spooked them.  I didn't see the mama deer till I looked through the photos afterwards. Turns out she was close by the whole time.

I'm linking up with Deb Duty Photography for This or That Thursdays.
