BlogHer recently asked me, "How does blogging, journaling, writing and connecting online help to increase your happiness?"
I started blogging when the kids were really little. It was a time where it was hard to get out of the house. There were days where I had no adult contact till my husband got home. Writing my blog allowed me to vent about the day to day trials of raising an infant and toddler. I found other women who were going through the same thing. Just knowing that other people were going through the same thing made me feel better.
Thankfully I do get out of the house more frequently now that the kids are older, which means more adult interaction for me. I still connect with friends online. Many of my commenters and fellow bloggers, I consider friends even though we have not met off line.
Blogging now reminds me to focus on the happiness in life. I participate in Leigh vs. the Laundry's Happiness project every Tuesday. I love thinking of something that makes me happy each week. I participate in many photo challenges, which forces me to find the beauty in the day to day.
