Spring Came Early!

Spring came early to our part of New England. The daffodils are out a month before they usually bloom. I took advantage and took their annual daffodil photos early. Good thing too since it is only in the 50s this week.

10 Weeks and Finally a Theme!

So I finally decided on and stuck with a theme for my photo taking (for 1 whole week)! I'm trying to be creative and see those common toys differently.

Pencil Invention

Caitlin's pencil broke. So I told her to tape it together. She did. When I said I could cut the tape for her, she said this was her new pencil invention. You wear the tape like a bracelet and that way it won't fall.

9 Weeks

I made it 9 weeks of Project 366. I'm really hoping I can finish it this year. The photos this week are just an average glimpse into our lives. Davey made silly faces, I met a sweet new baby, Dave wore his classic shoes, a play dough world was created, we celebrated Dr. Suess's birthday with green eggs and cat in the hat stacks, Maximus was upside down, and Caitlin had sparkly nails. I forgot to start my theme on March 1 but will start it today! Hoping to spark some creativity.

Happy Birthday Dr. Suess!

This is my post celebrating Dr. Suess from last year. Hope you enjoy it!

Yesterday, we celebrated Dr. Seuss's birthday by reading Bartholomew and the Oobleck.
We decided to make oobleck too. I was somewhat disillustional and thought that the oobleck would not be too messy.

It was really messy but really fun too.

Clean up tip for oobleck: Don't try to wipe up with a wet sponge when oobleck is wet. It just moves around. If you wait till it dries, you can scrap it up.
Better clean up tip: Put newspaper down when making oobleck and throw it away when done.
Best clean up tip: Make it outside and simply hose down area when down.

If you want to have some messy fun yourself, here is the recipe I used:
4 cups of water in a large bowl. Add several drops of green food coloring. Mix 4 boxes of cornstarch (16 oz each) with your hands. Add 2 cups of water to mix thoroughly. I probably used a little more water to make it movable.
