Colorful Sky

We have had some beautiful colorful sunsets recently. Wish the power lines were not in the view.

Fun at the Museum

We took the kids to a science museum. It was so much fun to see them dance to paint with the colors.

They created flying cups.

I love the look of wonder.

The Golden Hour

Ok so Dave totally got my computer to work again. I'm not sure why it worked for him and not me. Maybe the computer is trying to tell me something. It is the second time it has done this. Anyway a new computer is on the way too. Woo hoo!

Soccer is in full swing again. I'm coaching Davey's team again. Caitlin's team practices and plays on different days this week so I actually get see her play this year. Last year she played the same time that I coached Davey's team. Right now, soccer takes place during that golden hour for photographers where the light is just perfect.

Le Sigh

My computer died.

It will not boot up.

I'm saving my pennies to buy a new one.

I will probably not be around as much for a while. Unless Dave can resuscitate it when he gets home.

Star Wars Party

In case you didn't know, Friday, September 16, 2011 was the Blu Ray release of all 6 Star Wars movies. It was cause for a holiday in our household. Both Dave and Davey love Star Wars. Davey legitimately thinks he is a Jedi since he fought and defeated Darth Vader in Disney World. Caitlin and I like it (just way less.)

Dave made Death Star watermelon for our viewing party.

I made Yoda Soda. It is Sprite and lime sherbet. Yummy.

I also made Han Solo jello to mimic when he is frozen in the carbonite.

We even let Vader watch the first movie with us.

Fairy House

Summer went by too quickly. It is hard to fit in all the fun plans. Remember our summer fun list? We accomplished most of the things on list. We never got around to making the fairy house although we gathered materials from the beach and woods. But technically it is still summer till Wednesday so we made the house this weekend.
Caitlin insisted the fairies' wings might get tired and they would need a ladder to get to the rooftop dining.

The fairies bathroom. Caitlin also insisted on using the blue paint water for the bathroom. Poor fairies are going to be blue after bathing here.

(Any one know why Blogger sometimes insists on turning your photos. I actually turned it when editing to try to trick Blogger but it knew my trick. I went back and turned the text. Frustrating.)

We had a lot of fun designing the fairy house and using our imaginations. As we were working, Caitlin said, "Maybe the fairies are watching us right now and waiting for us to finish the house." I love that.

Davey had his first day of preschool last week. I tried to get a couple of good shots but this is what I got.

Water Fight!

We closed our pool last week. It was really early for us but we lose a tube during Hurricane Irene and thus 6 inches of water. Totally an incentive to close early. As we closed the pool, the kids were soaking each other with watering cans.

They had so much fun.

Dave and I both took turns with the hose to really soak them. They retaliated with the watering cans, but you can guess who won.

Magic Moment

Trying to get both kids to look at the camera and not make funny faces or put the other in a headlock is a feat. When they both climbed up onto the rocks at the beach and both had natural smiles that was my magic moment. (The fabulous light did not hurt either.)

Remembering

For the husband who told his wife I love you one last time before his plane went down in a field, for the wife who stopped in the stairs to call her husband to say I will love you forever, for the mothers and fathers who kissed their kids goodbye the morning they died, for the policemen who rushed in with the firemen to help get others out only to die themselves, for the soldiers who fought back and lost their lives. Today, tomorrow, ten years from now, we will remember...

Last Beach Day?

We went to the beach Labor Day weekend. We have been a lot this year. The kids just love swimming and playing in the sand. I wonder if this will be our last trip till next summer. Probably but you never know in New England.

First Day of First Grade

Caitlin started school last week (after a couple of unexpected days delay to clean up after Hurricane Irene.) She was a little nervous about starting 1st grade and going all day. She did great. I'm so proud of her. I can't wait to see how much she'll grow and learn this year.

She insisted on wearing foam rollers to bed so her hair could be curly for the first day.
