Friday was down right chilly but Saturday was sunny and in the 70s. We took advantage and had one last day at the beach. It was wonderful. The random butterflies made it even better.
Our date this week, started with dropping Davey off for his first solo day of pre-school. He practically run into the room. I had to beg for a hug and told him we would be back soon. He said, "Ok, see you!" I know I should be happy that he left so easily but I was hoping for a little more hugging.
After we dropped Davey off at pre-school, we went to a cafe for breakfast and chai tea. It was a nice day out so we relaxed outside. We mostly talked about the kids and how proud we are of them. Then we talked about how much we like some free time. Dave took a vacation day so we could have some alone time without the kids. We walked to the library after breakfast. It was really nice to browse the books and CDs without the kids causing a ruckus.
We ran some errands after that. Dave picked up this sweet lid. I love that goofy man. It was wonderful to just have some alone time and do things that we used to take for granted before the kids. I'm looking forward to some more dates while the kids are at school.
This is date 27 out of 52 for us. Go to Simply Modern Mom to join in on the fun.

Dates during the day are such a rare pleasure!
It is so precious to be able to capture a pic of a random butterfly by the beach!
And it is lovely that you guys get to spend some alone time together in the day! :)
Looks like a fun day!!!
Love the butterfly shot!
What a great day... I wish I had a beach near by... We have the Great Salt Lake Beach, but it's not somewhere you wanna lounge around (brine shrimp stinky) :)
Pretty Butterfly
Butterflies at the beach? Cool!
=)
Those are cool butterflies on the beach.
I need to start making more of an effort at the daytime dates--no one in school here yet, but my parents are nearby and always 'complaining' about not seeing the kids enough!
Thanks for the ideas!
I love the beach picture!!
the butterfly on the beach is wonderful!!
How awesome that you can have day time dates while kiddos are at school! So many opportunities to connect! :)
I'm hosting a give-away on my blog celebrating the completion of my re-ignite date night challenge, come on over and link up to enter!
Cheers!

What a beautiful beautiful post! Lovely days! I love the butterfly pic but I love the idea of morning tea with no children better, lol.
That's an awesome hat!
Daytime dates are GREAT and I would say more about what I miss about free time together in the middle of the day before we had kids but this is kind of a family place!
lovin' the new lid!! I can't believe it's in the 70's already by you. We were up in the 90's a gain today. I practically need a ski jacket when it drops to the 70's ;-)
I don't think I've ever even seen a photo of a butterfly on the beach. I'm still in awe.
