When I got diagnosed with underactive thryoid, it was almost a relief to know that the fatigue I felt was not going to last forever. I thought that it was just normal fatigue. I allowed myself to take some time off from working out till my medications started kicking in instead of forcing myself to workout despite the fatigue.
It has been a couple of weeks now since my diagnosis. I saw an endocrinologist. He seems awesome. He spend 30 minutes with me just explaining my illness, test results, and treatment. He answered my questions before I asked them. He explained I have Hashimoto's Disease. He also upped my meds from 25 mg to 50 mg. I am actually starting to feel a difference. I have more energy.
So this week it is time, to start working out intensely again. I did the 30 Day Shred this week after taking 3 weeks off. Let me tell you I don't recommend taking that time off and starting with level 3. Those walking pushups were brutal again. I was definitely sore the next day but it is a good thing to get those muscles working hard. I also went jogging this week. I am painfully slow but I will work my way back to just slow. It feels good to be moving even if it is hard.
I am also starting to watch my diet again. Hopefully I will be able to eat healthier and actually lose weight.

I am just glad for you it is something that can be treated and that you are now feeling better - xo
SMT, I have Hashimoto's. Most MDs won't tell you this, probably because they aren't aware, but most (possibly all) people with Hashimoto's have gluten intolerance. You can have yourself tested through a place like Enterolab. Blood tests are NOT accurate, so I don't recommend that route. You can forgo the test and live your life assuming you are gluten intolerant. It is a huge change, but so good for your health in the long run. I'm happy to answer any questions you might have.
Hugs for you woman :)
Just don't try to do too much too fast!
I am so glad you have a diagnosis and a treatment that is helping. I hope you continue to do great!
I glad you know what is wrong and that you are feeling better. Nothing is worse than feeling yucky all the time and not knowing why. Hugs!
Good for you for going at it so quickly after being diagnosed. I admire you!
And what is a 30 day shred! Sounds like something I'd totally be into!
I have Hashimoto's disease as well! Its been so trying, my Doc. does not want to prescribe anything just yet he said. Seems I am not too bad but everyday I have to drag myself out of bed. I am going to have to see another doctor soon because I feel like I am in a fog somedays!
Anyway, how long did it take before you felt better? I've heard they have to play with the meds to find the right dosage. I have to admit that worries me. Thanks for any info!
