Happiness and Super Mario Brothers.

I love that it is warm enough for bike riding.

Project 52: Date Nights logo
So we missed our date last week. Things got hectic and we really didn't do anything other than watch tv together. I guess we really need to pick a day of the week and stick with it. So this week we decided to rent Super Mario Brothers for the Wii. We both had played the original as kids. It took us a little while to figure out how to start and play. The rental doesn't come with any directions but it is not that hard to figure out. It totally brought back memories from childhood. The game is very similar but also has some cool additions like riding lizard like creatures. It was a very fun date. I'm a little competitive but it was cool that you can work together at times too. We hadn't played Super Mario Brothers earlier because we thought it would take too much energy. This Wii game doesn't require much movement on the part of the user. So we will play again much sooner.

This is date 12 out of 52 for us. Go to Simply Modern Mom to join in on the fun.

I cannot believe that I still haven't played the new Super Mario Bros for the Wii...this was a good reminder that we need to go rent it!! Sounds like a super fun "date" to me!

It its my kids fave game. I could not play it in 1989 and I still can't. I am a complete video game retard.

I used to play that too - hated the bit where you had to jump from moving wall to moving wall in the clouds (I have a fear of heights)

The Husband keeps wanting me to play with him because he's saved the princess, conquered another section, but he needs a partner to get through some other thing. I am so afraid I'll slow him down and he'll yell at me!! ;-)

My daughters love their bike helmets -- they often wear them around the house, for fun.

Haven't played that in years and years but it does sound like fun!!!! I'm all for a more stationary Wii game occasionally.

It doesn't seem that it matters what you do so long as you do something together, right?

We just bought new bikes for the kiddos, so we've been wheeling around like crazy for the last few days. Going for bike rides with my crazy busy parents is one of my fondest memories. I hope to send my kids off into adulthood with similar ones. Ride on!
