Water and Running Class

This has been another bad week fitness wise. I only worked out today due to the bathroom renovation. The kids haven't been able to nap or have quiet time and thus I have not been able to work out. I took Davey for a jog today. It was the first jog with Davey since the fall. I am so looking forward to warmer weather so I can do this regularly with him. A really cool thing about jogging with Davey now is he played with his Leapster 2 aka the kiddy crack and didn't even seem to notice how long we are gone.

Since I've given up the artificial sweeteners, I'm finding it hard to drink enough. It was easier when the water was flavored by Crystal Light. But I've made a big effort to insure that I'm getting all my water and staying hydrated. I always have my water bottle with me now.

I signed up for a running class at our local park and rec. It is taught by a triathlon coach but is for runners of all levels. I thought it would be great to get tips on training by an expert. It also insures that I get to run another day during the week. It starts in May. I plan on starting to jog/run again before the classes starts. I'm in sad running shape again after taking a break for a couple of months. I plan to keep up with Jillian Micheal's Making the Cut interval workouts but plan to cut back from 4 days a week to 2-3 days a week to make room for running too. I don't want to give up all the muscle I gained.

I have no idea if I gained or loss this week. I'm not sure where the scale is in this mess. I'm hoping I didn't gain but I wouldn't be surprised if I did. We have eaten out more this week than usual and even good choices have more calories than what I make at home. So I'm getting back on track and looking forward to spring.

I didn't have such a great week either. Sigh. Next week! A new bathroom though? Truly an awesome thing!

I'm really looking forward to spring, too. It's really hard for me to get enough exercise when it's too cold to get outside.

How about a little lemon in the water or a splash of fruit juice? I need to drink more water too and ...exercise? Well maybe I'll get to that by the fall again. I am definitely going to have to look into the Jillian Michael's gal...eventually!

we get so much more exercise than we realize when it's nice out. I walk more, mow the lawn, swim, run around with the kids. Winter is tough...

I know what you mean. Last week I was surprised to see that I had lost 2 pounds since the last time I weighed in. I thought for certain I would have gained. Excited, I started ensuring I worked out more and watched what I ate better...and I've gained a good pound back. WTH!

drinking water will help combat the extra sodium and fat content in the meals eaten out.
Try putting some lemon, lime, or even cucumber slices in your water.

totally can relate.. caught a cold, so it was difficult for me to stay motivated. I did work out at least a 30 minute workout, but it was hard to get the body moving!

Ohh I've been wanting to try the Jillian Michaels workout vids...what are they like? Is she screaming at you the entire time?! Joining a running club is a great idea. I think I might need to do the same to help get myself out of my running rut.

I run too and have never loved that any small break is such a huge setback. lol.

Sometimes the scale is the absolute devil and needs to be smashed with a million jackhammers. I'm just sayin.

I have a girlfriend who joined one of those running classes and she loved every second of it! Have fun!

I am lousy at sticking with exercise. Just lousy. I do drink enough but I sure don't work out enough.

I have a horrible time drinking enough water! I tend to start out strong and then I slack off. I can tell when I stop drinking enough because I get tired or the sides of my mouth crack. I'm still stuck on diet pop now though. Kill me.
