One Step Forward and One Step Back

I have felt like I'm getting a cold for about a week now. I feel low on energy and a little headachy. Fortunately I haven't actually gotten a cold. I've found it hard to push my workouts this week. I actually missed on of my Jillian workouts last Saturday. I thought I was getting sick and due to a time crunch I only had time to workout or walk the dog. The dog won out. He doesn't get walked enough since he was attacked on Labor Day and I won't walk in our neighborhood anymore. I did do 4 of the 5 Jillian Michaels' workouts and an extra day of cardio on the elliptical machine. I have stuck to the diet portion pretty well but have had a couple of Hershey kisses each day. Damn that Christmas candy is still around.

I'm hoping I get out of this funk soon and have more energy. Isn't exercise suppose to increase your energy levels?

Well I actually gained 1.5 lbs this week. I'm not totally sure how that is possible. I think I stuck with sensible eating all week and kept in my calorie allowance all week with maybe one day exception. That exception was not worth 1.5 lbs. I think that it may just be water retention. I guess next week will tell me if that is true or not. I'm not getting discouraged yet. I'm proud of myself for sticking with this challenging routine for 3 weeks.

I don't know about you, but the weather here is dragging me down! Hope you feel better soon.

The weather is getting me down, too. It totally sucks.

As for the weight gain---it could be water retention, and it could also be that you're building muscle. Muscle weighs more than fat, you know. Seriously....so cut yourself a little slack! As for the chocolate---I find if I don't allow myself a little treat here and there, I'm that much more likely to binge or misbehave later.

Discouragement is the worst. It will knock you right off track if you let it. Just get right back on the way you were going and don't look back. You can do it!
Remember that as a woman you will always have one "off" week a month. You may gain but it will come right back off again. Don't let it get you down...and if I might be so bold...throw the Hershey's kisses away. They are not worth it.

Water retention sucks! That's got to be it.

I'm so sorry. I hope you feel better soon. And water retention could certainly be the culprit.

I'm proud of you too. And it is awfully hard to stay on track when you feel bad.

arrrrgggghhhh! I LOVE being a girl; most of the month :-) That water retention just drags me down too!

Chin up lady :-) It is true that you are building muscle, but are you taking enough water? Along with the sensible diet comes alot of water !!

Hang in there and try not to become discouraged, as THAT too can affect your fitness!

This weather suck-ith royally! You have a good attitude, though. If you're on track with your eating, then it is probably just water...keep doing what you're doing, the scale will catch up!
