Ticked Off Tuesday-Prostatitis

I've decided I really can't write another post about that stupid dog and stupider owner. So I am writing about prostatitis. Have you ever heard of it? I hadn't heard of it till Dave was diagnosed with it. Prostatitis is an inflammation and/or infection of the prostate gland. My husband has been sick since March. He has had a series of health issues including ulcers, malfunctioning gallbladder, and prostatitis. The ulcers are healed. The gallbladder has been removed. The prostatitis is still raging. The symptoms of prostatitis vary from person to person as does the cause. Most of the time doctors really don't know how to treat it or what causes it. If antibiotics don't work, you are kind of screwed. For Dave the prostatitis causes pain in his genitials and fatigue. Sometimes the pain is so bad that he really can't function. It is so hard to see him in pain. I wish I could do something to ease his pain. The worse part is wondering when the pain will end. Some people have this condition is years.

Dave has been searching for answers on message boards and websites. He found several men found success by drinking broccoli water (Boil broccoli for 5 minutes in 4 cups of water and then drink the water.) He is avoiding alcohol, caffeine, and most spices. For a man who loved buffalo wings as much as he did, this is no small sacrifice. Dave said he's never eat them again if it got rid of the prostatitis. He is trying to exercise more too. He is making more healthy choices than ever before. We are both hoping they pay off and the end is in sight.

Sorry to hear he is having to endure all that pain. I bet you are relieved to have a diagnosis though. As terrible as that broccoli water sounds, if it brings some relief....

Great cartoon :D

If the cure for everything was broccoli water, I do believe my husband would choose to suffer.

I hope Dave feels better soon.

Oh, so sorry to hear that. I can't imagine the pain. Hope he's better soon. Has he seen a naturopath? They might have some ideas.
Good luck.

I hope he finds some relief from the pain. The not knowing must be hard too. Thank goodness for the www and all the info...hopefully he'll find some answers from his search.

Boiled broccoli water instead of beer. I'm gonna have a hard time talking the hubs into that. Good for your hubs to have such determination in his health and future!

I can personally vouch for broccoli treatment. Yea it's gross, but I wasn't functioning and contimplating the end. Within 2 weeks I am 90 percent better. I was on all kinds of antibiotics for 4 months continuous. 2-3 hot baths a day. Now I'm free. I take 4 TBspoons of liquid chlorophyll a day, 2-4 grapefruit (I juice them) colodial silver, and I drink brocolli water twice a day. Don't know which is working, don't care. Also read the book headache in the pelvis. It shed new light on my pelvic pain. Brocolli did more than 5 urologists did for me. Swimming seems to help. Male 30y/o
