Maybe these are the gals who are still looking for mates? I hope you see some babies soon! OMG, those baby ducklings waddling behind their mamas are the cutest freaking thing ever!
We went to the park and looked at ducks yesterday. There were many young mallards, but they all appeared to be segregated. Males in one group in the pond and females in another on the grass. Maybe it's thing they do this time of year?

Happy WW from Sara @ the Mostly Wordless Wednesday H.Q.!
wow is that a photograph? It almost looks like a painting.. just gorgeous!
We get the ducks, and geese, who stop traffic in my neighborhood.

The girls are busy working... on their nests or caring for the babies. Work work work! :)
I love the pic of the ducks. They're so cute!
Psst, maybe the 2 females are the "wild" ones? :p
I love feeding ducks great photo
That reminds me, I need to take the kids to the park and let them feed the ducks. We haven't been in SO long!
Great pic! We counted 15 gosselings near our house. Great fun :D
The girls are probably grocery shopping :)

How did you know? I would never know.
I think the ducks must be hangin at my house, six here and only one female in sight!
Happy Wednesday!
Awwwwww...I love ducks! Thanks for stopping by today! Happy WW!
They must be with their babies. Cute photo!
Cool shot! The girls are outnumbered!
Happy WW!
I'm outnumbered about that badly in my house too!
That is how it is here. The female ducks are outnumbered 3 to 1. Happy WW!
Love the picture of the ducks.
LOL That's a lot of boys! The girls must be out getting Mani/Pedi's. hehe
that is funny . . . I once read somewhere that ducks mate for life so if the male or the female dies the other is alone for the remainder
probably on the phone
So cute! How do you know which are male and which are female? Nice ratio for the females, huh? lol
The male ducks have the more colorful feathers (ie green heads) and the females are all shades of brown.

i never knew the differences of male and female before - cool
maybe they have a gang and the girls are the leaders (like it should be lol)
I'm guessing there was a great sale on shoes and handbags and the girls went shopping.
Must be in Alaska, I hear that's the male/female ratio there lol...
Cute photo.
I love it!!! Ducks are such pretty photo subjects :)
happy WW!
oh 13 ducks?? how did you know it is femal or male..haha. Happy WW.
Why they are taking a break from all the boys of course...
My guess, you'll find all the females swimming somewhere near by :P
Hmmm, good question?
At least duck females have a lot of choice ! and males are more handsome, lol !
I am curious too where the female went to. :)
we had 28 ducks in our yard this morning. Fatboy said ;quack quack' for about an hour:) thanks for visiting my blog:)
Aw. Perhaps they're protecting their eggs?
Perhaps they are at the mall? :)
Great pic! The lady ducks must be at home eating bon bons ;)
Maybe because it takes a whole "duck load" of males to handle the work of 2 females? LOL.
How can you tell which is which?
