What's the poop?

Last week I was walking my dog and pushing my two kids(who weigh at least 65 lbs. combined) in the double stroller up a hill. This is no easy feat. Maximus had to go so I set the stroller's brake and waited with doggie bag on hand ready to scoop up the mess. I was picking up the dog's poop. when an angry old man came out of his house to yell at me "I'd appreciate if you don't do that again on my lawn."

"Um, ok" is what I said. What I should have said was "Ok I won't pick it (the poop) up." Can you imagine the steam coming out of his ears.

Am I out of touch? I just don't understand why people care if a dog poops on the lawn as long as the owner picks it up. What do you think? Was I wrong to let him poop on the lawn even if I always pick up after him? I'd love to hear from you all especially non-dog owners.

I see nothing wrong with that as long as it is picked up. What I don;t like personally is when the dogs pee on the lawn. it can kill the grass. But that is just me and seeing I live in a rather close quartered neighborhood, I pick my battles and pee and poop ain't one of them. He's just crotchety. :)

Well, I love dogs as you know but it pisses me off to no end when our neighbor (2 houses down) allows his dog to run the neighborhood b/c he inevitably craps in our yard. Between my kid and my dog I have enough shit to pick up. ;)

My brother in law hates when dogs pee or poop on his grass but then again his professionally sodded yard probably equals my old annual salary. So that's not a fair comparison, I suppose.

Next time take the poop and put it in his mailbox. Or in a bag on fire on his doorstep. That's a way to teach the kids a valuable life lesson! :)

I pull my poor doggie off of people's lawn when he's going to poop...though I rarely let him go on the lawns to begin with. Since we're a sidewalked neighborhood, I walk him in the road usually, and there's only a few more discreet areas that I'll let him poop in the grass between the sidewalk and the road...I'd be more apt to let the dog pee on the yard than poo...We're lucky we live so close to a park...(and that one of our neighbors is NEVER home;) shhh....Some people just don't like dogs no matter what. You're a good citizen for picking it up.

I'm not a dog owner - but I love them nevertheless. I don't mind the poop too much as long as its picked up. It's the non-picker-uppers that just KILL me.
