Settle It

OK blog readers settle the argument for Dave and I. We had plans to go to a family restaurant with my parents, my brother and SIL, and my aunt. It is something we do every year before the holidays. The plans were set. Then Dave freaked out because his beloved Patriots were playing at the same time. He argued that the game was on the calendar so he shouldn't have to miss it. I say it is a once a year event and he should have sucked it up.

What happened? Well we had everyone over our house for the meal. That meant that we had to do more cleaning and prepare the meal. We also missed our free meal out. However the kids were able to run around. It definitely is easier to entertain the kids in our house than at a restaurant. It probably was for the best but I'm still a little annoyed with Dave's attitude that football should run our social life (what little social life we have).

Also Dave makes the kids wear Tom Brady jerseys each game day. He believes that because the Pats haven't lost yet he must continue to dress them in the gear. FYI Davey's jersey is about 4 sizes too big for him. The onesie goes down to his knees.

Thanks for reading this rant. I needed to vent.

Edited to Add: Dave wanted me to make clear that the game was on the calendar for months. Also if you think I was wrong it is OK to say so. I just wanted to vent.

Arugh....from one sports widow to another....it's just the price we pay.

I say he should have Tivo'd it and watched it later. But then again I'm on your side ;)

Or could he have stayed home and you went with the kids? Better yet, have him keep the kids and you go and enjoy lunch in peace!!!!

Well I hate to say it.. but.. I get it..being a sports freak myself, but then again I don't get how difficult it is with kids and wanting to just go and have people serve YOU for a change. But I do understand the dressing in jerseys thing..I do certain things for the Red Sox..which I can not divulge. :)
