Don't you feed that baby?

OK, Davey was 20+ lbs at his 6 month checkup. He is not a small baby. He is healthy and pleasantly plump. Dave says I should post photos of his thighs to prove his plumpness. Maybe after nap time.

Anyway something that annoys me is when older (ie my mom's age) women comment that Dave seems so hungry. Comments like, "Poor thing. He is reaching for the spoon. He must be hungry." Umm, that is what infants do, they reach for everything. My favorite was from the meal this weekend when my aunt said, "Can't he have some (Death by Chocolate)?" Mmmmh, no he can't have Death by Chocolate anytime soon. Then my aunt asks "How about just a little cream?" No he can not have any part of that dessert.

I don't know what these women are thinking. Maybe it is just because child development guidelines are so different now. Maybe Death by Chocolate was acceptable for 7 month olds thirty years ago. We turned out fine is always the comeback. Yeah I suppose we did. Maybe I should get the boy a steak now.

My mom tried to feed Nolan ice cream at 2 months old. To this day she "sneaks" him taboo foods even though she knows I am watching. It annoys the crap out of me. It's just a generational gap thing.

And PLEASE post pics of his thighs - you know how I love fat babies!!!!!!
